SportRx See Better Guarantee™

First off, let's get you acquainted with our See Better Guarantee™. At SportRx, we care about you and want to do everything we can to make sure you're 100% satisfied with your order. We know it's hard to order something like custom prescription sunglasses online — you're plagued by questions like "Will the prescription be correct?" or "Will these look good on me?" Luckily for you, our See Better Guarantee™ makes sure the answer to both questions is a resounding YES!

When you order anything from us (that includes sunglasses, eyeglasses, and even prescription inserts), you have 45 days to try it out. If you have any issues at all, let us know. We can walk you through your options individually if you give us a call, but for now, here's an overview of what we can do:

  • Remake the lenses to your needs at no charge to you
  • Offer credit toward a different pair
  • A full refund (no restocking fees!)

The best part? Our customer service is personal. Your calls don't go to a phone tree and/or an overseas call center. Instead, you'll get to talk to a real live human in San Diego, who will happily answer your questions and guide you through the process. Our Sports Opticians are friendly and knowledgeable, and eager to hear from you!

What You Need to Know Before You Buy from SportRx

This is the technical part. We'll go over turnaround times and our Test Run Program.

  • Varies, but we typically quote about 4 weeks for prescription orders.
  • For a more detailed breakdown of our shipping process and options available to you, visit Fast Shipping on Prescription Sunglasses.

Test Run Program

  • We send you up to 3 frames of your choice (without lenses) so you can try them out at home.
  • Visit our Test Run Program page to learn more.

Buying Prescription Sunglasses from SportRx

Now that you know you'll have a positive experience shopping with SportRx, let's dive into the details! We'll cover what you need to place an order, our pricing, a brief overview of frame and lens types available to you, and other issues that may come up during the ordering process or just after you receive your new prescription sunglasses.

What You Need: Prescription & PD

  • Updated copy of prescription: It's OK if you don't have it right this second. You can still place an order with us (we don't charge your card until your order is put into production) and we'll send you a reminder later.
    • We need a current copy of your prescription (most expire after a year or two).
    • If you've ordered from SportRx before, we may have it on file if you contact us.
  • PD (pupil distance) measurement: This is a necessary measurement when making prescription eyewear, but it isn't always written on your prescription.

Pricing

Pricing is a big variable, especially on a site offering as many options as SportRx does. Between brands, lens tech, lens material, and lens type, the price fluctuates.

Frame Selection

Without getting too deep in the weeds, here's some things to keep in mind when picking your frame:

  • Sizing: To aid you in figuring out which sunglasses will fit you, we've devised the SportRx Frame Width, or SFW for short. This is a measurement that gives you a more practical idea of how the frame will fit.
  • Intended Use: Keep in mind whether you want to use your sunglasses for sports or casual wear (or both), since certain frame designs are intentionally made for specific uses.
  • Functionality: The same as above; functionality depends on your intended use. For example, you may need interchangeable lenses to cover multiple conditions, a wrapped frame to block light, or many other options.

Lens Types

Like we hinted above, there's myriad lens features and types you can get from SportRx. We offer standard and digital single vision lenses, digital progressives, bifocals, and several lens materials. On top of that, we can fulfill almost any type of tint request. Need polarized, mirrored, prescription sunglasses with your progressive Rx and glass lenses? We can do it!

If you have any questions about the various lens types available to you, we can point you toward a few of our prescription guides:

Does SportRx Take Insurance/FSA/HSA?

Yes, we do! Prescription orders qualify under vision insurance, or a flex account, if you have that.

Other Issues

Give yourself time to get used to your new Rx. There are times where you can tell immediately that the prescription is off, but more often than not, it's a matter of your eyes adjusting to a new way of seeing. If you're still not loving your lenses after 2 weeks of wear, let us know and we can help you out.

Step-By-Step Guides
