I am also interested in rx glasses for tennis. I preferred the Mercenary to the flak but understand the Mercenary is very limited in the availability of rx lenses. When will the availability be expanded to the sport range?
I play in all light conditions sometimes in the afternoon and in to dusk. Would the Field be ok in low light?
Unfortunately the Mercenary has not been opened up to PRIZM non-polar lens options yet and chances are it may not be any time soon. This is due to the large size of the lens and the limits on PRIZM Sport lenses at Oakley's lab. The good news is that the Flak 2.0 XL will still give you great coverage for tennis. We would recommend PRIZM Trail for playing tennis at dusk because this lens allows more light through than PRIZM Field but it will still give you great contrast-even on the tennis court. That's not to say you can't use PRIZM Field. It will just be more difficult to see when the sun is going down because it is darker.
