Oakley Flight Deck Overview

This rimless snow goggle is named after the helmet visors that fighter pilots wear. The spherical lens design provides stellar downward and peripheral views of your surroundings. This wide range of sight paired with Oakley’s PRIZM™ contrast-enhancing lens tech, gives you crisp, clear vision for a confident ride. It is helmet-compatible and with the right size, delivers comfortable all-day wearability. It includes all the features you’d expect from an Oakley goggle, including anti-fog coating, built-in venting, sweat-wicking triple-layer face foam, and an adjustable silicone strap. To learn more about this goggle’s features, check out our in-depth Oakley Flight Deck Review.

Oakley Flight Deck M vs L

Oakley changed their naming convention for goggles a few years ago. So if you are confused by the sizing system, you’re not alone! The Flight Deck M used to be called ‘XM.’ This is the same goggle, just with an updated name. So if you are looking to upgrade from your old XM goggle, the Flight Deck M is the right fit for you. Additionally, the Flight Deck L used to simply be the ‘Flight Deck.’ It’s a larger than average size snow goggle, so to clear things up, Oakley renamed it the ‘Flight Deck L.’

If you’re new to the Flight Deck and wondering which size is right for you, we’ve got you covered. If you typically fit into average-sized hats, helmets, sunglasses, etc., then choose the Flight Deck M. This is the average-sized goggle of the bunch. If you have a larger head, and often find hats and helmets fit too tightly, then you should go for the Flight Deck L.

Prescription Oakley Flight Deck Goggles

Are you a snowboarder or skier who wears a prescription? If you haven’t heard of prescription goggle inserts, they just may be the game-changer you’ve been looking for. Rx goggle inserts fit easily and securely into your favorite pair of snow goggles. Unlike wearing glasses under your goggles, or contacts, that could dry out, goggle inserts help alleviate issues like fogging and discomfort. Since they conform to the shape of the goggle, they offer the widest range of view possible (unlike the limited peripheral vision glasses provide). Finally, they are a safer option than riding with glasses under your goggles—for both your vision and your specs! Check out our page to learn more about prescription snow goggle inserts.
