RB3025 Aviator

Originally designed to protect American pilots’ eyes, this stylish frame was built to perform. Featuring G-15 lenses that blocked harmful UV rays and blinding glare, pilots were impressed by the Aviator's performance while citizens were seduced by its elegant design.

Contrary to bulky aviation goggles of the time, Aviator sunglasses boast a minimalist and clean design. The lightweight metal construction delivers all-day comfort and pilots were delighted with the increased peripheral vision. As for coverage, the dramatic teardrop lenses excel. The oversized lenses are a stark contrast to the thin metal frame and feature the newest G-15 lens technology. Ultimately, the Aviator was a resounding success due to its beauty and innovative design, and that reputation continues today.

The Aviator is a favorite worldwide. Available in an array of sizes, colors, and lens options, you can create a completely unique look with your Ray-Ban Aviators. Need help with sizing? Check out our Ray-Ban Aviator Size Guide!

RB3138 Shooter

One year after the Classic Aviator, the RB3138 Shooter made its debut. Featuring a signature “cigarette-holder,” this middle vanity circle was designed to free the hands of its wearer. Originally offered with G-15 lenses and yellow Kalichrome lenses, you may recognize this unique frame from the film, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This unconventional style was Johnny Depp's character's signature accessory throughout the film.

While this frame is no longer made with Kalichrome lenses, the RB3138 Shooter still has the same design. If you can’t resist the hypnotizing yellow lenses, take a look at our SportRx Custom Lenses to achieve a similar look!

RB3030 Outdoorsman

Following suit in 1939, Ray-Ban introduced the RB3030 Outdoorsman. With the same pilot shape as the Aviator, this style added an enhanced brow bar and cable temples. Originally designed for outdoor enthusiasts, cable temples provide a secure fit and all-day comfort. During the Outdoorsman's introduction, the lenses were called “Skeet Glass” referencing the skeet shooters who often sported the style.

RB3029 Outdoorsman II

If you like the look of the Original Outdoorsman but don’t enjoy the fit of the curved cable temples, the RB3029 Outdoorsman II is the Aviator for you. While this frame features the same double bridge and sweat bar as the RB3030, the Outdoorsman II differentiates itself with the temples. You'll achieve ultimate comfort with the coated temple tips in a traditional bent shape.

RB3362 Cockpit

The Ray-Ban RB3362 Cockpit is a smaller interpretation of the Classic Aviator. Featuring a less dominating lens, the Cockpit still maintains its Aviator style with a teardrop shape. Due to the shallower lens, the Cockpit is an excellent option for those with prominent cheekbones. If you find that the Aviator's dramatic teardrop lens touches your cheeks, you won't experience that issue with the RB3362 Cockpit.

RB3136 Caravan

Next up in the Ray-Ban Aviator Collection is the RB3136 Caravan. Appearing in 1957, the Ray-Ban RB3136 Caravan is the squarer interpretation of the Classic Aviator. This geometric model is an attractive alternative to the dramatic teardrop shape of the RB3025. If you prefer the look of a less pronounced lens, or want to expand your personal Aviator Collection, the Caravan is an impressive addition. Minimalist design and flattering fit? Check and check.

RB3026 Aviator II

The Ray-Ban Aviator II is very similar to the original style. In fact, they are almost identical. The frame features the distinctive teardrop shape, but is slightly softer than the original. Unlike the original, the Aviator II is only available in a 62mm eyesize. This makes it a great choice for those with larger heads, or those wanting a drastically oversized look. The Aviator II is available in gold and black.

RB3625 New Aviator

The newest iteration on the Ray-Ban icon is the Ray-Ban New Aviator. It features everything you love about the original style, with some added glam. This new take on the Aviator features a thicker frame for a bolder look. And the iconic Ray-Ban rivets seen on styles like the Clubmaster and Wayfarer, are reimagined on the New Aviator. The rivet shapes are engraved on the temples and nose bridge, making this a truly unique pair of shades. The bold metal and intricate detail on the Ray-Ban RB3625 make this frame an easy favorite. Another thing to note about the New Aviator is that it is a 4 base frame. Most Aviator styles are 6 base frames, so if you have a high prescription that hasn't worked with other Aviator styles, give the New Aviator a try!
