How PRIZM Dark Golf Compares to PRIZM Golf
Yes, its true. Oakley created a second PRIZM Golf lens, PRIZM Dark Golf, to cover you in an even wider range of conditions. A lot of the feedback from PRIZM Golf was that the lens is not dark enough for sunny days. Oakley engineers went back tot he drawing board to design Dark Golf. PRIZM Dark Golf has a VLT(visible light transmission) of 22% which creates a darker lens than PRIZM Golf at 30% VLT. If you primarily golf in a bright and sunny environment, PRIZM Dark Golf is what we recommend. In comparison, PRIZM Golf excels in overcast or variable weather. *VLT- A measurement of the amount of visible light that can pass through the lens to your eyes. A Higher VLT creates a lighter tint lens than a lower VLT.
Is PRIZM Golf Polarized?
PRIZM Golf is not polarized. This is because a polarized lens is not necessary for Golf and may even inhibit your performance on the greens. Some studies even indicate that a polarized lens will affect your depth perception. Relying heavily on your hand-eye coordination in golf leaves little room for error, especially when judging how far away the ball is from you when you are teeing off.
