The Boston Red Sox claimed the 2018 World Series four games to one over the Los Angeles Dodgers. As per tradition, some of the World Series champion memorabilia will be heading to the National Baseball Hall of Fame Museum in Cooperstown to be memorialized for generations of baseball fans to see. Joe Shestakofsky, announced today that 8 Red Sox artifacts would be joining the museum, including Joe Kelly's prescription Flak 2.0 XL sunglasses. Prescription glasses? The very same that helped define Joe Kelly's look and attitude on the pitcher's mound.
San Diego-based prescription eyewear company, SportRx, counted the glasses’ induction as a double win for both Joe Kelly and all eyewear wearers. “We help people see, so they can do what they love,” says Rob Tavakoli, SportRx Vice President. The ecommerce company has been retailing online since its beginnings in 1996, dedicated to supplying athletes with prescription eyewear for every sport.
Back in 2014, (When he was still with the St. Louis Cardinals!) we had the pleasure of having Joe Kelly visit us at our humble brick and mortar store to pick out his first pair of prescription sunglasses. That was over 4 years ago, and we've been been teaming up with Joe Kelly ever since, for all his frames both on and off the field. Part of SportRx’s mission is spreading the word on prescription sports eyewear. “When Joe Kelly contacted us about fitting him into a pair of prescription baseball sunglasses, it was a no-brainer,” says Dan Bruton, SportRx CEO, “Your eyesight is not a handicap.” With Joe Kelly’s current glasses heading for Cooperstown, SportRx’s lab is already preparing his replacement for the off-season.
We even got the chance this year to get 5 baseball tips from Joe Kelly

My son is a 16 year old pitcher and a Joe Kelly fan and a JK look-a-like.
He started wearing glasses at the end of last season and he's been looking for good baseball glasses since.
So we're looking for the frames and lenses that Joe Kelly wears when he's pitching. He's also looking for a second pair with the lenses that he could use when he's playing other positions.
