Hello, I am looking at the Brine TORTOISE / Blue Mirror prescription sun glasses. I have 3 questions, please. First is will the lens coatings deteriorate when exposed to salt water? I looking for glasses to wear sailing and on the beach so they will inevitably end up in the water with me. Second question is would this lens be good for skiing also? Will it still show good definition coming in and out of the shadows? Third is do they have any anti fogging layer applied to the lens? Thank you, William
1. All Costa lenses have a C-Wall molecular bond on the outside of the lens. The C-Wall molecular bond on Costa lenses provides the most scratch-resistant and smudge-free barrier, repelling salt water, oil and sweat for easier cleaning. Costa sunglasses were built by fishermen who needed sunglasses that wouldn’t be deteriorated by salty water or air, so that shouldn’t be an issue. 2. Quick question are you referring to water skiing or skiing on snow in the mountains? 3. The Brine has venting holes on the front of the frame that helps combat fogging. However, there is no anti-fog coating applied to the lenses.
