A common misconception we’ll clear up right now is that even though you’re inside your car, you are not protected from the sun. While you're safe from UV light, bright glare can still blind you, and a good pair of driving sunglasses will prevent that and keep your eyes comfortable. Keep reading to learn about what qualities are most important in driving sunglasses. We’ll even recommend a couple of our favorites to help you get started!

Do I Need Polarized Driving Sunglasses?
Yes, polarization is a must for driving. Sunlight reflects off of windshields, other cars, and wet surfaces on the road, creating a harsh glare that strains your eyes. Polarized sunglasses negate this horizontal glare so that you can focus on the road.
While we don't often recommend polarized lenses for sports, they are an essential part of driving. Polarized lenses provide UV protection, block all glare, and provide a comfortable driving experience.
Do I Need an Anti-Reflective Coating on My Driving Sunglasses?
Something else you might want to consider is an anti-reflective coating. We apply AR coatings on the backside of lenses to prevent sunlight bouncing off the lens from behind and into your eye.
Should I Get a Mirror Coating for My Driving Sunglasses?
Yes, we definitely suggest it! A mirror coating is a coating applied to the front side of a lens that blocks what we call "ambient glare" or glare that isn't caused by a reflective surface. It's still annoying light that you don't really use to see, so a mirror coating gives you a darker lens by getting rid of that glare.
You can get a mirror coating either as a subtle hint or a bright, bold color that matches your style. Either way, they have the same effect. Say goodbye to that annoying glare!

It sounds like all your sunglasses were polarized. Some polarized sunglasses cause digital devices to become distorted. You could do two things: get sunglasses without polarization, or choose a brand that has a polarization technology that doesn't distort devices. REVO markets their sunglasses as digital device friendly even with their polarized sunglasses.
Aviators with amber colored lenses would do fine. It's mostly choosing between polarized or nonpolarized sunglasses. Here's a post we wrote a while back on What Are Polarized Sunglasses if you want to learn more.
Have a great day!
