Good question Ellen! If you feel comfortable using progressives and don't have much trouble navigating between the distance and reading areas, or if you're heavily reliant on the intermediate/reading portions of the lens to view a display screen or phone in your car, then it's probably a good idea to stick with a progressive setup. That said, with single vision only, you get a wider viewing range and less distortion throughout the entire lens. This can create a more enjoyable and probably safer driving experience overall. It really comes down to the personal needs and preferences of the driver. Many people have progressives in their everday glasses, and keep a seperate set of single vision shades in the car used specifically for driving. Next time you drive, take note of how often you rely on said reading area to aid in your decision. Hope this helps!
