Oakley BiSphaera Overview

The Oakley BiSphaera is a multi-sport sunglass with a sleek and modern design. It launched at the same time as its shield counterpart, the Sphaera, but features two lenses instead of one. As a sport frame, the BiSphaera has a wrap around design that’s prescription-compatible. Following in the fan-favorite Flak 2.0 XL’s footsteps, this sunglass has all the performance features you need—with added style. The cutting-edge design paired with contrast-enhancing PRIZM™ lenses gives you a confident, competitive edge.

Like most Oakley sport frames, the BiSphaera is made of durable O Matter™ material that lasts wear after wear. When you’re working up a sweat, Unobtanium™ anti-slip grip material on the nose pads and temples keeps this sunglass steady, so you don’t have to worry about constant readjusting. It has thin and flexible temples which easily work with any hat or helmet. The semi-rimless design is ideal for sports like golf, and offers the option of lens interchangeability.

Oakley BiSphaera vs Sphaera

As seen on players in the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl and Olympic athletes, the Sphaera is a popular new Oakley sunglass. It features a shield design with only one lens. Therefore, one of the biggest differences between the two frames is that the Sphaera is not available with prescription. Additionally, it is not available with interchangeable lenses like the BiSphaera is. The Sphaera also has a larger fit and taller lens height than the BiSphaera. This makes it a better option for cyclists, as it has better visibility in the aero position. Finally, some say the nose pads on the Sphaera are more comfortable than those of the BiSphaera.

The Sphaera comes with some innovative features that further set it apart. The first is the vent port at the top of the frame which allows for air flow and keeps your shield fog-free. The next, is the unique temple design. The temples feature an angular cut-out for your fingers to easily remove the frame from your face. To learn more about the similarities and differences between these two sport sunglasses, watch our Oakley Sphaera vs BiSphaera video below.

Oakley BiSphaera vs Flak 2.0 XL

Both the BiSphaera and Flak 2.0 XL are prescription compatible multi-sport frames. Those with a high prescription might want to try the Flak 2.0 XL. It has a high Rx dock option that accommodates stronger prescriptions. Because of the sleek, futuristic design, the BiSphaera doesn’t look as sporty as the Flak 2.0 XL. While it clearly is a sport frame, you can tell the cool aesthetics of the BiSphaera weren’t forgotten in the design process.

The BiSphaera features thinner temples, making it more compatible with hats and helmets than the Flak 2.0 XL. Due to the nose pads on the BiSphaera, some people find the Flak to be the more comfortable sunglass. For cyclists, the Flak 2.0 XL offers better visibility in the aero position than the BiSphaera. Watch our BiSphaera vs Flak 2.0 XL video below for more details on how these frames compare.
