Oakley Turbine frames have been around for a while and we love them. Now Oakley is introducing the Double Edge. Check out our review below where Sunglass Rob compares the Oakley Turbine vs Oakley Double Edge.
The Three Major Differences
Comparing Oakley Turbine vs Oakley Double Edge starts with the Unobtainium. Unobtainium is Oakley’s patented rubberized grip. The hotter the weather, the more you sweat. That’s a given. With Unobtainium, the sweatier you get, the stickier it becomes and it gives you significantly better grip. Oakley Turbine has more Unobtainium on the outside for aesthetics and on the inside for grip.
Oakley Double Edge on the other hand, has no Unobtainium on the temples which gives it a sleeker look. Both of the glasses however, do have Unobtainium on the nose bridge. So if you need a sunglasses that is high function and you’re planning some heavy sport activities, then Oakley Turbine is the one for you. However, if you are looking for a more sporty look, you may prefer the Oakley Double Edge.
Oakley Turbine has a more rounded look and has the Unobtainium on the outside of the temples whereas Oakley Double Edge is more squared off and sleeker.
