San Diego Bike to Work Day 2017 was May 18th and SportRx was there to retain their title of Favorite Pit Stop! Organized by iCommute, thousands of riders pedaled to work to be good to their bodies, their wallets and the environment. For SportRx, this event is the best day of the year, the happiest of holidays, as biking is a way of life for the SportRx team. In fact, SportRx sets up a water stop in front of their headquarters 7 days a week so passing cyclists can refresh and recharge. Favorite Pit Stop!
Being named Favorite Pit Stop for Bike to Work Day 2016 only set the bar higher for SportRx this year. So, after a lot of planning and collaboration with valued brand partners and local businesses, #1 Pit Stop began setup at 4:45am. Bike to Work Day t-shirts were piled up for all registered participants to grab. Delicious donuts and the much needed Buzzz! Coffee were in the house and on the house. And APX Sport Drinks were on the scene to provide all-natural, healthy hydration. How great is it that all of their profits go towards cancer research? Speaking of kind, KIND snacks were there handing out tasty treats to all the cyclists. The crowd favorite: Dark Chocolate Almond Mint bars!
So what else could make SportRx win the Favorite Pit Stop for the second year in a row? That would be thanks to amazing brand partners, who raised their canopies right alongside SportRx! Oakley, Costa, Bolle, Smith, Kaenon, Spy, Dragon, Nike, WD-40, APX Sport Drink, Bzzz! Beans, Pedal the Cause and San Diego Mountain Bike Association. The partners were on hand to highlight their products and causes, help out with bike repairs and pass out amazing schwag! They also loaded up SportRx with great raffle prizes, like sunglasses, helmets, bicycle cleaning kits, hydration and nutrition! And the lucky winners are all cycling back to the #1 Pit Stop to pick up their prizes!
Of course, the event would not have been complete without KUSI and NBC-7 coverage! In fact, Brad Perry of KUSI predicted the Favorite Pit Stop win right here!
It was yet another great Bike to Work Day - a huge success! SportRx thanks every cyclist, supporter and friend who made the day and made them the Favorite Pit Stop for 2017! Now to begin planning for Bike to Work Day 2018!
