Before we can start production on your prescription eyewear, we'll need a current prescription on file. If you have an upcoming eye exam, you can still proceed with an order and send us your new prescription later. We’ll even send you a reminder!

Yes. At SportRx, your prescription sunglasses and glasses are tailor-made to your vision needs. To make your eyewear to perfection, we'll need a copy of your current prescription.

If you've shopped with us before, you can locate saved prescriptions in your account. Or contact us and we'll be happy to find your Rx and check its validity.

Pupillary distance (PD) is the distance between the centers of each eye. Your pupillary distance is an important piece of information when buying prescription glasses. If this measurement is not on current your prescription, just call the last place that performed your eye exam or let us measure it for you!

When you order your frames, we'll contact you with simple instructions so we can measure your PD without you having to come into the store. It'll be that easy.

Yes! We will have your prescription on file from any of your previous purchases. If the prescription is still valid, we can definitely use it for a new purchase. If you made an account with us, you can log in to your account to view past orders and saved prescriptions. You can also contact one of our opticians to verify that a prescription from a previous order is still valid, and to place a new order!

Prescriptions are specific to glasses or contact lenses, so we won’t be able to use your contact lens prescription to make glasses.

We can certainly try! Due to rigid HIPAA regulations protecting your medical privacy rights, it is much faster for you to request the prescription from your doctor, then forward the information to us.

Prescriptions are typically valid for two years, unless otherwise specified by your doctor on your prescription. If no specific expiration date is noted on your prescription, then it is assumed valid for two years from the date of the exam.
