I was told about lower base lenses being put into higher base frames to potentially improve visual clarity. 4 base lenses into 6 base frames or 6 base lenses into 8 base frames. Something about the lenses' edges being thicker.
It'd be nice to see explanations and examples of this.
Hey Tajo! Labs can sometimes manipulate the base curve to allow people with stronger prescriptions that typically can't get into a high-wrap frame shape the ability to do so. There can be downsides to this, such as added thickness at the edges and a widening of the temples, which can lead to an improper fit and/or loose-fitting frame. It really depends on the person, Rx, and lab capabilities. If there's a frame you're interested in and would like to know if it's possible to have your Rx installed, give our opticians a call. They'll answer all of your questions and help get an order started for you!
