Thanks for the question! The best way to order a ski goggle lens is to give us a call at 888.831.5817. Our opticians can hunt down the lens you're looking for so you don't have to. We'll need to know the name of the ski goggle you're looking to buy a lens for though. If we carry the brand, we're your best bet to acquire the lens you want.
Are the Smith ChromaPop lenses on the Squad XL MTB goggles dual wall? I want to use them for skiing but I don't know if they're going to fog more than ski goggles.
I would not recommend using the MTB version in the snow. It does not have a dual-pane lens and won't be able to stand up to the kind of fogging you get in snowy conditions as the snow version can. We still have a few remaining in stock here! https://www.sportrx.com/smith-squad-xl-snow-goggle.html
Looking at the three lenses I already own, how does one tell them apart besides guessing what they look like. The only variable marking I can find printed on the lens in very tiny letters is next to the Chromapop wording - I see: ST, SN, EV ?
Hey Fitz! Smith's Chromapop lenses are broken down into 3 categories: Sun (SN), Everyday (EV), and Storm (ST). The sun category of lenses will have a solid mirror and the lowest VLT (visible light transmission) percentage. They are designed for bright, sunny days with minimal cloud cover. The Everyday lenses also use a mirror, though the reflection is less intense and more transparent compared to the Sun lenses. Everyday lenses are great for some cloud cover as they let more light pass through the lens material and therefore have a higher vlt rating. Storm lenses have the highest VLT rating and are designed for cloudy, overcast, or evening conditions where there is less natural light available. You can usually see a person's eyes who are wearing a storm lens since they have the lightest amount of tint and reflection. This is why most Smith goggles come equipped with 2 lenses to allow for interchangeability as lighting conditions change. Hope you found this information to be helpful!
