A frame that provides full coverage and prevents ambient light from entering your line of sight is beneficial as well. Poor contrast sensitivity is another symptom of AMD. This can be remedied with a high contrast bronze or rose tint and when coupled with a mirror and backside AR (Anti-Reflective) coating, you should have your bases covered when it comes protecting your eyes while driving.
