It's interesting that contact lens prescriptions only last one year. I've had glasses for a few years now, but in that time I've consistently considered switching to contacts. At least then I wouldn't have to deal with cleaning glasses so much.
Hey Jesse! Many people have a preference of glasses over contacts and vice versa and it changes person to person. That said, if you end up going with contact lenses I would highly recommend having a backup pair of prescription glasses. Prolonged contact lens use can potentially result in dry eyes, irritation, and issues with overall focus depending on the strength of your individual prescription. I like how you pointed out that contact lens prescriptions can be written for almost anyone. My son is wanting to get contact lenses before he starts his final year of high school. I will have to take my son to an optometrist so that he can get the right prescription for contact lenses.
Hi Henry! Contacts are great for aesthetic purposes as well as activities that make it difficult to wear glasses BUT they are not as accurate in terms of the correction specificity for most people. Meaning you may not be seeing with 100% clarity in contacts compared to glasses which, in some cases, could make a big difference in terms of comfort and performance.
