Bike to Work Day 2014 started off with a fire! Literally. National Bike to Work Day was May 16th; however, due to the San Diego wild fires, it was postponed locally until May 30th. Regardless of the delay, there was an amazing turnout on the rescheduled BTWD. Hundreds of cyclists rode by the SportRx headquarters, which kept our Pit Stop buzzing with riders all morning. It was definitely a good time. We were blasting our music, ringing our cowbells, and cheering on riders all throughout the day!
Bike commuting is near and dear to our hearts, so to us, BTWD is like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and our birthday - all rolled into one! We love bike commuting so much that we support the cause every day with our Support and Gear Stop! For the event, we were fully stocked with coffee, donuts, APX sport drink, Cliff bars, Honest Tea, free schwag, and more! Jack FM radio also came out with their prize wheel, and our friends from Traction Bicycles set up shop with their mobile bicycle repair truck to provide commuters with free bicycle tune-ups!
