About 2016 Bike to Work Day
Bike to Work Day is an official event that takes place during Bike Month in May. On this day, thousands of people commute to work via bikes in an effort to encourage cycling as a healthier and safer alternative driving. Over the years, BTWD has spread nationwide.
There is a lot that takes place nationwide during Bike to Work Day. About 80 pit stops spread across the nation to celebrate commuters, provide support, and enliven what for many is a daily routine.
What to Expect During the 2016 Bike to Work Day at SportRx:
For us, Bike to Work Day is like another holiday in the year, and what better way to celebrate than to do so as an official SANDAG partner with even more involvement and excitement than ever before! Going on our third year as an official Bike to Work Day Pit Stop, we figured it was time to kick it up a notch.
Coffee and donuts will be on deck all morning. Also fueling the ride to work: APX Sports Drink, Red Bull, and KIND Snacks.. Anywhere Bike Repair and WD-40 BIKE will be onsite providing tune-ups and bike care. Top eyewear brands, Smith Optics, Oakley and Bollé, will be set up in tents handing out schwag. Prizes and gift cards will be raffled off to riders and media coverage is expected for the third year running. The SportRx Pit Stop will be open for the ride home as well. SANDAG will be present with information regarding local government efforts to make cycling safer in San Diego. Come ready to roll – it’s going to be a party!
