What does PD (pupil distance) mean?
A: It is the distance from one pupil to the other. You can get your PD from the last place you ordered glasses.

What is the difference between Grey #1, Grey #2, and Grey #3?
A: Grey #1 is very light, barely noticeable- there is a jump to grey #2 which is a sunshade that you can still see your eye through and grey #3 is a sunshade that you can not see your eye through.

How do I know if my prescription will fit in the style I like?
A: We provide prescription limitations with all our styles. We also are available to call and we will ask your prescription, PD, face, shape, general size, and sport to ensure a good fit.

What happens if I am not happy with my glasses?
A: We provide a satisfaction gaurantee that states if you get your glasses/goggles and you have problems with fit, style, or prescription we will remake them one time for no charge unless there is an upgrade in frame or lens. In this case you would pay only the difference. If all else fails and we cannot find the style that is right for you we will refund all but a restocking fee of $30.

Do you offer a warranty?
A: We have a one year warranty on the frames. Your prescription lenses are not covered under a warranty.

What is a test ride?
A: Our test ride program allows prescription wearers to try on a specific frame before purchasing them in prescription. This is available for Sportrx styles only

Can I try on the frames locally?
A: Many Harley dealers and after market shops carry the Wiley X and Pan Optx lines. Other brand name styles you maybe be able to try on and you can find dealers near you usually on their web sites.Once you have decided on which style you like just call and give us the style number and your prescription.

What are the different colors of tint used for?
A: Grey is used for all around use and is available in #1, #2, #3. Grey will not change colors when looking through them. Brown #3 will provide mild contrast and sunshade but it will change the color of things you see. Amber is a high contrast lens designed for low light situations, depth perception enhancement,or a very light amber may be used at night. Yellow is typically used for very high contrast needs such as hunting.

What is the difference between polycarbonate and CR 39 plastic lenses?
A: CR-39 refers to the type of plastic that is used to make prescription lenses. This is optical plastic and provides very little distortion .It is more lightweight and thinner than glass making it comfortable to wear. It is more impact resistant than glass, but may still break and shatter upon impact. Therefore, it is not recommended for active sports and motorcycling. It is more scratch resistant than polycarbonate, but will scratch if not properly taken care of. Polycarbonate is an impact resistant material. . It is becoming used more and more today especially for motorcycling and action sports.. Although polycarbonate is impact resistant, it should not be considered breakproof or shatterproof. However, polycarbonate is the strongest material available and will have the tendency to break into large pieces versus small pieces which are not as dangerous. Polycarbonate is the thinnest and lightest of all materials.

Why should I use Sportrx over my regular optician?

A: Cutting  8 and 10 base lens to fit in a wrap frame is a very specialized process which requires specialized cutting equipment and knowledge.The possiblity for optical distortion is much higher than regular frames.We have been processing wrap frames for 8 years.
